Great day on Llyn Cefni, tried to fish from the boat but high wind was making the drifts tricky so mostly fished from the bank. Had three browns and a rainbow with the biggest about 2lb, all caught on red or green diawl bachs and went back strong. Will definitely be back.

Cefni Catch Report week ending 8th September.
Well we are now in September so can say goodbye to whatever summer we had to reflect on.
September has historically been a difficult month to fish.
The fish are now well used to the array of flies that have been whizzing in front of them these last few months.
Nevertheless, an exceptional few weeks of fishing has been had by regular and visiting anglers.
The native brown trout are being caught in good numbers, almost 3:1 in comparison with the stocked rainbows.
Depending on wind direction drifts from Bodffordd towards the jetty and along the stones seem fruitful.
Top flies seem to be fry imitations, crunchers, cormorants, daddies and boobies.
The President Shield was fished this last Saturday 7th and saw 6 fishing.
I was out fishing and can honestly say the lake during the daytime was alive with fish rising.
At one time I would compare them to a shoal of Mackerel, and in between these were some exceptional sized fish both browns and rainbows.
21 fish were caught, with Elfed Jones taking first place with heaviest bag of 6 and heaviest fish.
Barry Grail came second with 5 fish, Rhys Edwards 3rd
But special mention should go to junior member Pryderi Hedd with his bag of 3 inc heaviest fish and taking the junior 1st prize, a very big well done young man.
The inter Competition between Cefni and Pwllheli AA is fast approaching.
Those willing to take part are encouraged to note their names on the register details can be found in the hut all are welcome.

Very hot day - major hatches of Sedge flies etc happening all over. Clear water. Unfortunately not even a pull - couldn't tempt them with anything in my (limited) travel box of flies with either intermediate or floating line. Didn't try lures though. Fish were moving though, but sporadically. Blanked :(
