One trout caught on nymph. Released. Very few fish rising all day. No significant hatches that I could see. Water levels low and murky in places. Lots of dog walkers making a disturbance

Random feeding. Not holding station. Could of been chasing small caddis but they definitely took every upright. Weird. Lots of park users, and I mean lots.

Unfortunately the water was very murky with only a few inches of visibility, there was quite a bit of rain in the morning which did not help. The beat had some passable sections but overall didn't have any exceptional water to fish. There was a brief hatch of olives (20-30mins) but no rises. Managed to hook one swinging a wet fly in the riffle but didn't land it. Very many people walking there dogs and throwing stuff in the river but this is not surprising for a town water. This was also our first time fishing the Usk so maybe that had something to do with our rough day as well. However, after having fished different beats on the Usk I must say that there are much nicer looking beats with nicer water and no dogs swimming or people throwing rocks where you're fishing. Will not be going again next time visiting Wales and would not recommend.

Very frustrating day ! There was so much fly on the water yet hardly any risers and limited movement to nymphs . The 6 to hand were split 3 on cdc blue winged olive pattern and 3 on bead head nymphs . 5 hooked and lost also . Spiders in the streamy water didn't get a pull . By 12 p.m the water started to colour quite a bit . Size wise 3 between 10- 12 inch , 2 around 14 inches and one nice fish about 18 inches .

Beautiful sunny day 15c with the llanfoiat gauge at 0.4, lots of people out walking dogs and throwing rocks but to be expected on a town water. Luckily didn't seem to affect the fish too much as there were loads rising.
Huge grannom hatches from about 9am with the March browns kicking off at 12, ldos trickling off all day.
Only caught the one (1lb bt) on a size 16 klinkhammer but lost 3 others on the same fly, they appeared to only be taking emerge style patterns.
