Very hot day and many people enjoying & splashing around in the river! But hey, why not?
So went to top of the beat and found fish in the broken water, especialy above the main salmon pool, a tricky wade above the waterfall but many fish here.

Another fantastic day fishing. I was really surprised by the size of the fish caught, all fish were caught on a GRHE nymph between 12"-14" except one which was 18". Wading in some places can be extremely tricky and would highly advise a wading staff as I had a nice dip couple of times. I saw two canoeist on the river and did a runner as soon as they saw me. Lovely beat with lots of features and a cracking backdrop. I will definitely come back again.

8 fish caught French nymphing, mostly black bead, brown body. Two caught on dry fly, one of these approx. 1 1/2 pound plus. All others around three quarters to one pound. Dry fly used was black and red hopper size 14. The nymph body had fluoro orange wire through the body. All fish were in good condition.
As an Australian tourist I think the booking system needs attention to make it easier for travellers who don't have access to a printer.
Please note that due to poor weather conditions on Monday 11th, my permit was altered to Wednesday 13th.
(WUF Note: Those without printers can save the booking confirmation, maps & directions on a smartphone or other device and take it with them on the day. Otherwise, we’d be absolutely delighted to hear suggestions on improving our booking system.

Saw very little signs of any fish at all. Spent 4 hours trying a variety of dry patterns; the closest I got to any interest was with a Deer Hair Emerger which was snapped at by a couple of trout neither of which made any solid contact, hence a blank day. Really enjoyed being on this lovely stretch of water though.

Very easy booking system and great service when I called up to change dates etc. Very enjoyable few hours spent on this beat late afternoon into the evening. 12 fish taken on the long nymphs (french leader) all fish between 10 and 15 inches in length. Some tricky wading...if anyone finds a pair of polarized Oakleys...they're mine! Haha
will definitely return soon. Many thanks and well done.
