very changeable day. started of wet and cold, brightened up then heavy cloud cover, warmed up mid-afternoon hoping for a hatch, but alas lazy so and sos didn't cooperate. gentle breeze mainly from the east, so blowing upstream for a change. Still managed to move a fair number of fish, lost 2 and had 4 to the net. All on a variant of a sedge/caddis pattern - size 16 and 18 - all dries. no luck at all nymphing.

5 fish including one of about 3/4lb from below cronkley bridge. Missed about 7 million takes on a kinkhammer, not sure it was right. Beautiful setting, exciting fishing, scary wading!

Fished between Widdy Bank and Cronkley bridge, had 7 brownies up to 10" and lost a fair few on nymphs and drys. Quite a few fish rising in the flats despite a chilly downstream wind. Very enjoyable the scenery is worth the ticket price alone.
