River was absolutely spot on, still carrying a little extra colour and flow. Weather very benign with just a couple of showers in the afternoon. Started in the swim immediately upstream of the cattle drink and quickly lost two barbel to hook pulls in short order, before finally landing a tiddler (around 3lb) and a modest Chub. Bites then tailed off, so moved to the very upstream limit, where there's a really deep hole close in and had the rest of the fish from there. The Chub were going nuts for lumps of Luncheon meat, but the Barbel all came to feeder tactics with pellet or boilie on the hook. This is a fantastic stretch that I'll definitely return to.

River had good colour & was pushing through looked like it had dropped overnight as banks were treacherous started in the cattle drink swim & hooked a Barbel after a couple of hours witch came off, cast back to the same spot & hooked another one soon after which put up an awesome fight all quiet after so moved down to the bottom field where the Chub were in residence, a lovely sunny day, love coming here stayed until sunset in the hope the Barbel would feed again, all fish caught on feeder tactics with Robin red pellets
1 Barbel, 9 Chub
