Parked at the lower car park and fished the lower half of the beat only. Bank erosion means that the only way to progress upstream requires wading across the river. We were able to do this (Abernant gauge 0.47m) but higher levels might make this very challenging. One lovely grayling 15" and a smaller brown trout, both caught on dry fly in the middle of the day.

Fished here a couple of years ago, but I see now that there is an extra section at the bottom end. Keen to check this out I made the long walk walk from the top end parking spot, access a little difficult but did fish the house pool. Good job I did because this was the only spot I could find any grayling! Caught 2 and lost a couple ( one was big ). Fished along the whole length picked up the odd trout here and there and constantly attacked by the vegetation all day long!

Fished dries - saw half a dozen rises. Lost one good grayling. Beautiful unspoilt venue.

River extremely low. No fish in it. Waste of time and money

Very pretty best buy a strong downstream wind,some activity at the lower section,but we are fairly incompetent so no fish caught.

A pleasant few hours on a lovely beat.
River very low and clear, with bright sun, and very little insects hatching
There were one or two occasional risers, but not enough inscets to actully get them up and on the feed.
So a nil return, but still a nice way to pass a few hours.

Lovely sunny Spring day. A bit blustery and water level low, too low for me to do any good. Probably needs some rain to be at its best, but it is a lovely beat and I will be back when the water level is a bit higher. Fished weighted nymphs.

Well, a disastrous, long awaited start to the season ! Only one of us was able to dip a toe in my much loved Irfon today. My mate had to deal with an inept builder so had to cancel . I arrived and had a chat with lovely Joyce and her neighbour, she and her grandson are quite excited about letting out this stretch. Unfortunately, although the “heavy overnight rain” predicted hadn’t affected the the levels, I’m afraid the nasty cross and downstream wind did ! Oh , I became feeling quite unwell too ?! Aborted after a couple of hrs, no cast presentable so no ladies/wbt . Nice beat as far as I could see. Gutted.

Lovely bit of water. Watched otters checking and catching fish in the middle of the beat. After this no fish seen . Lovely day though
