Got caught out by the fast rising water, alright until all the Summer’s debris started moving down the river, It was a branch a cast by early afternoon. I would be cautious on the mud track after rain. Glynn, the ghillie, was very helpful.

We only fished the afternoon, and low levels made it tricky, but we had plenty of chub to 6.2lb and a single barbel at last knocking...

Disappointing day. Just one 3ib chub on the float. Nothing on the feeder.

Fished near the pylon swim. Not easy like same time last year. Kept on changing bait and tactics to get them. They came to either meat, halibut pellets or sweetcorn.

We fished either side of the fishing hut in what looked ideal conditions. Feeder and trotting float tactics were employed using pellet and meat for hook bait. The majority of fish caught were small chub and one dace. We did have a couple of chub in the 3 - 4lb bracket but no Barbel.

WUF please note - on the map for this beat you have the wrong access route around the field for to the Fishing Hut. It should be left once in the field and then right parallel with the river and not right then left as you currently have it, Thank you.

Slow going off the croys in the middle section (below the fishing hut) trotting down fishing the crease and also casting to the far bank and trotting down along the tree line, picking up some smaller chub and roach in the crease and some larger chub off the far bank. Moved after lunch to the fast section at the bottom just by Luggsmouth and had some success wading out and casting to the far bank; picking up maybe 15 chub to 4lb on luncheon meat.

River looked good today, normal summer height. Just fished middle of the day caught 4 medium sized chub and three large eels. No barbel showing at all. All caught on luncheon meat feeder or trotted float.
