Given up sitting it out for the big one, on the stick, maggots, light feed. Nice day again. Brown trout 2lbs and bite size, chub both around 4.5lbs, again grinding out fish as we can due to low water and warm bright days. Lots of salmon seen holding up again.

Another difficult but enjoyable day with the motto being stick at it. All 3 barbel came in the last half hour of fishing as the light faded.
A well maintained beat and the work being carried out on the Groynes is impressive.

3 Barbel, 4 Chub

Long way for one chub! Caught it on meat, clear water conditions. Good access to fishery though might be better fishing from the other bank? That's where the tree cover is, hope this helps.

1 Chub

First time on this lovely looking beat. Great access throughout which is great as I'm recovering from a hip injury. Fished a number swims more to keep warm as it was bloody cold. All fish fell to pellet feeder tactics. The 2 barbel fell right at very last light with the chub coming at intervals throughout the day.

Very bright conditions with low clear water. A chub apiece from the flow near the Lugg confluence.

Foggy morning made for good conditions, had 5 barbel up to 1.00pm including the best of the day at 9.00lb. Went quiet once the sun burnt off the fog. Had the last 4 barbel in the final 2 hours.
Great days fishing.

9 Barbel, 5 Chub

A fantastic location, able to fish every inch of this beat and being able to get car to bank added bonus. although hard work locating fish getting knocks M.B. managed to land 3 barbell, 5lb 5.5 lb and 7.2 lb. 2nd rod blanked but as a travelling duo never had a day on Wye when both rods blanked. another barbel and chub were lost of hook just before netting. Still a lot of salmon jumping. Would like to revisit the beat at start of season to get more out of it. Normal feeder pellets tactic used so the end of another 2 day trip to the Wye, not too many fish caught but the tranquility of being bankside in the country without a care in the world fishing superb waters and chasing the dream of a Wye double barbel is far better than being at work.

Warm and sunny day, river in good condition. Moved around throughout the day in search of fish, barbel didn't show until 5pm. All barbel caught between 5lb and 7lb.

Fish caught on pellet and meat. Late afternoon and early evening best.

4 Barbel, 5 Chub

No even a bite.
