Very wet so was unable to drive to the bank. The walk across the field was a struggle, took too much out of one of us so just one rod was fished. River was up and pushing hard. 5oz bomb was needed to hold two rod lengths out but the Barbel were still having it. Had 5 to 8lb 10oz, also a few small Chub and one Eel of 3lb.

River at 3' on the Fownhope gauge and well over the croys on the beat. Started fishing at the bottom of the beat around lunchtime and retrieved two set lines which were very well tied with coated braid hooklinks, Gardner mugger hooks and meat screws on the hairs. Moved up to the pylon run and wound in a somewhat rougher looking set line. I caught half a dozen barbel and a similar number of chub. Two of the barbel had very nasty tears to their lips, it's possible that they may have broken off an angler and then become tethered before ripping the hook free but I suspect it may have had something to do with the set lines. After a pleasant day I made my way back to the car, which I had parked on the hard standing inside the gate, and found that the cows had attempted to clean it for me by licking the exterior of the vehicle, leaving great tongue swirls across the windows and panels. Good job I'd come in the wife's car!
It concerns me a little that these catch reports are a pretty good indication to the poachers of where to fish. It may be wise to make them viewable only to those registered with the foundation booking office.

River a very colourful reddish brown after the storms yesterday although dropping slightly during the day. Fished downstream of the hut to take a total of 13 barbel to around 7lb and a couple of small chub so really pleased given the conditions.

Arrived about 0900, river up and coloured but looked great for Barbel Fishing. Split up and I tried up stream and JT decided to fish near the hut, no joy for either, both wandered down to the end of the beat, again no joy, sun beating down and hard work.
I decided to fish the middle of the beat, and just as JT decided to join me I had my first Barbel about 7LB, three more followed biggest 11LB. JT had 7 Barbel, biggest 10lb. I lost a great fish last cast of the day, all fish caught on Pellet.
A beautiful location - thanks.

River still high but looked good, fished upstream of the Lugg so water much clearer, fast flowing so only able to fish close in. 1 x small barbel, 1 x chub, 1 x dace and 4 x eels all about 2lb (all on pellet which is a first for me)
Very sunny and hot.

One Barbel about 4lb all day. The river looked like it had flooded or at least been right at the top of the bank recently and was still a good few feet up, covering the tree trunks on the far bank and flowing at above walking pace (4oz leads were washed away like they were nothing in the main flow). My guess is that most of the fish had gone somewhere with more cover. Probbably among the far bank trees or in the Lugg...

River up around 2 feet with nice colour, plenty of weed and debris coming through. 5 Chub between 4 & 5lb and 3 Barbel of 5.14, 7.08 & 8.10 most fell to pellet with biggest Barbel taking large bunch of Maggots. Entrance to field and parking area getting rather boggy at time of visit.
