One brown on dry fly. Returned and swam off strongly. Bite dropped off as temp picked up then started again around 1630. Lovely spot

Fished from 9am. Hatches occurring then and river abundant with insect life all morning. Water level perfect. Caught one, 1lb trout on a Jingler. Beautiful beat with Sand Martins and Red Kites.

A lovely day on a beautiful beat. Bright but not excessively hot. Two trout on a streamer toward the end of the day, having tried and failed with dry fly and nymph. One minor bit of feedback on the beat map/instructions on how to access the beat - it would be worth adding that one needs to drive through the main entrance gate to Buckland Hall - this is a very obvious waypoint but strangely isn't mentioned in the current set of instructions. Nothing to detract from a wonderful day though!

Fishing Passport Note : That's very useful feedback and we will look at updating the beat details.

Got to the river water level already high from previous rain and continued to rise and colour so that by about 1pm was unfishable and still rising.
However is a truly beautiful stretch and fabulous bird life to watch.

Cool, cloudy day but with not much wind. Steady hatch of yellow mays, medium sized olives (BWOs?), and tiny olives until about 6.30pm. A decent rise throughout, though very selective fish (one spat out the fly three times before I eventually got him). A size 14 Jingler seemed to work to an extent, as representative of this variety. 9 fish, including big ones of 18" (2 1/4 lbs), 19" (2 3/4) and 20" (3 1/2). Lost a bigger one through incompetence, as he ran between my legs. The rest were 14" down.
