Great day, albeit wet, with both of us amazed to catch about 40 ‘proper’ chub between us. Most on feeder but some on trotted meat.

Started fishing at lunch and loads of chub on the float. They took everything apart from pellet. Finally got a barbel from this stretch and it was a beauty. Rolled meat to get past the chub. Great day. Incredible bit of water.

A fantastic day at Holm Lacy, made our way to the far end of the beat and waded out mid river to trot for the Chub on the centre pin. Great sport all day and to be honest the total could have been more as we lost count of the fish total at about 80 Chub, we also landed a couple of Barbel, all fish rested and returned safely. Cant wait to come back again!

Overcast first thing but as the bright sunshine appeared around 08:30-09:00 the catches slowed. Biggest Chub - 4lb 13oz. Then the other chub ranged between 4lb 2oz down to 2lb.
Lots of chub basking in the gravel shallows but very wary. Water clarity clear, all in all a lovely half day fishing. Will be back in October.

Float only rules given the low conditions. Chub fairly obliging once found and thankfully a cooler day. Low level and flow so not a time to take advantage so a shortened day.
Good opportunity to spot fish and Chub to be found throughout the beat.
