Might have been lots of fish but the weather didn't cooperate--a deluge combined with a thunderstorm and lightning meant we decided not to fish. Will rebook soon. Love this river.

Some mayfly about but very few fish rising. caught a 11" trout on a pt nymph then landed 3 trout on a dry mayfly of 11" 15" & 17". The biggest gave me a nerve jangling fight as it tried its best to get in the far bank tree roots. Some nice pools to fish when you can get down to the river.

Beautiful weather but surprisingly sparse hatch of olives and mayflies. Gnats swarming everywhere and one out of season 12" grayling caught on a peacock and spider variant of a team of wet flies in a faster pool. Trout were rising very sporadically in the slow gravel runs and a fine 15" fish eventually took a small black gnat emerger. I had to leave at 5:30pm, perhaps an evening rise would have yielded more fish. Yes to those who say this beat is tough to access and too deep to wade in many places, but the system of access markers on the bank is really good and does allow you to reach some really fishable pools.

Nil caught. Barely a sign of a fish, but the day was saved by an extremely close encounter with an otter. Access is difficult for much of the stretch.

Amazing stretch of river, with loads of wildlife and some fantastic trout habitat. Caught a perfect conditioned 14 inch trout, on the dry with a black gnat pattern. Hot, bright day and only saw two fish rising. Will definetly return.

1 grayling on a tungsten bead head. River perfect but water very clear and sun was bright all day.
