The beat is VERY overgrown and access is really tricky. Im 74 and found myself sliding down to the water on my bum and then having to crawl back up the bank afterwards. The path along the bank has been ploughed up and planted so I had to push through head-high rape to reach the top pool. I never got there. Once in the water (there is no possibility to bank fish) the wading was was not difficult but a lot of the beat is inaccessible due to deep pools and vertical banks. It's jungle fishing. I fished for eight hours, using nymphs at first as nothing was showing on the surface. In the afternoon a few mayflies were hatching and I started getting takes on dry flies. I only landed one but was very pleased with myself.

Had to work hard for the fish today. The odd mayfly around but only saw one fish rising regularly which I happily caught on a parachute adams. 8 trout to hand between 8 to 16 inches. Very enjoyable days fishing.

We fished the early evening and between us caught 6. The Grey Wolf took fish and there were plenty of misses as the evening progressed. A really enjoyable evenings fishing and a good beat to be on.

We took fish on drys and nymphs above and below the studio. We only fished from around 10 until 4 and the morning was more active than the afternoon. Small Nymphs in the faster flowing and looking out for rises to fish too.

River still quite coloured after recent rain. Mays were hatching in small numbers, didn't seem to get the trout going on the surface very often. A grey wolf seemed to work for a small period, in at the edges closed to the tree roots. Lovely quiet spot!

River just fallen enough to fish from exposed gravel banks at upper end only…… fastish flow, level still falling
But very limited safe wading. 3 anglers, one small brownie on pheasant tail nymph fished beneath a wool indicator. Mayfly starting to hatch in small numbers but not a single fish rising. Should be good in a week if rain not to severe. Vegetation very dense for early season makes some access points difficult.
