Poor day, not a bite at all. Tried two swims one of which looked perfect with a tree breaking the flow, good crease etc. I guess if they are not there you can't catch them.
Had a bit of a disagreement with a local gilly who insisted I should not be fishing where I was for the second part of the day. I had moved upstream beyond the end of the beat sign as the map and instructions clearly say the beat is extended post 17th Oct further upstream. He seemed to think that was incorrect so this needs looking into.

A great day on a high river, I had 4 barbel in 1 of the usual swims on the beat & managed to find some slacker water in
an area not fished before, it produced another 8 barbel, biggest 9lb 14oz.

Beautiful location, lovely weather conditions but high river was rising fast. One of the chub was 5lbs++ PB, and the barbel were 7lbs and 8lbs and fought like hell in a fast flow. Not too many fish, but a wonderful day on the Wye nonetheless.
