Another nice stretch of water, started off at the top end and worked our way down stream during the day. Again all fish taken on the feeder with either pellet or small bollie.

Always a pleasure to arrive on this beat....the type of setting you could roll out a rug and enjoy a traditional English picnic.
For the roving angler it is always pleasing to note the resident livestock are sheep who politely keep their distance and add to the tranquil scene. A sluggish day but we were entertained with aerial displays by Birds of Prey and songbirds who seem to reside here in abundance. For the record we caught some good fish crowned by an immaculate very healthy looking Barbel of 11lb 2oz. On leaving the beat we were joined by a sprinting hare to top off another great day here.

It was quite a surprise to find the level up slightly and increased pace from the previous day but the amount of weed made fishing extremely difficult for the first couple of hours. A rethink and change of approach greatly reduced the problem the weed had been causing and resulted in a great days fishing for both of us. Best barbel was 8.13 and chub was 4.13. Our usual feeder tactics and varying the bait was the method used.

Fairly slow to start with, probably due to warm and sunny weather. Things picked up late in the day and the Barbel switched on, best fish today 9 lbs 13 oz. Hoping to return to this beat in the future.

The barbel were feeding better than the previous day. The best barbel was 9.09 and the chub were a good average size to 4.04. Our usual feeder tactics using various baits accounted for all the fish.

First day of five days fishing on the Wye. Found the level similar to when we last fished in July but there was more pace in the river. Best barbel was estimated at 8.00 and chub was weighed at 4.14. Feeder fishing with various baits was the method used.
