River still up and well coloured but dropping throughout the day. The fish came in patches throughout the day, most notably early morning and late afternoon. We expected the usual flurry of activity around dusk but this failed to materialise. Otter seen at the upper end of the beat.

The water levels are falling, the flow is slowing and the fish are getting easier to find. These Wye Barbel and Chub look in really good condition and certainly enjoy a good fight.

I love this beat, but it can be a bit finicky and today was one of those days. The water levels and flow are falling, maybe a better day tomorrow.

We fished from 08:30 through to 14:40 as alit was time to head home after 3 days fishing. River was in perfect condition and dropping. Like yesterday the fish seemed to stop feeding in the early afternoon.

River was spot on just missing a little bit more colour. Couldn't buy a bite all day, my dad was lucky to nick a barbel very early on. Wildlife was superb looking forward to my next trip to the beat in August.

The Wye was quite low and clear for winter and I haven't been fishing in January for years. However, the mild spell of weather tempted me out and I was pleased to land a single barbel (around 5 1/2 lbs) and a chub, both on meat.
