What a difference a day makes! Couldn’t stop catching yesterday. Today was a real struggle. Same beat, same swims, same tactics. The only real difference was that today was bright sunshine. It was only an issue compared with normal standards. 4 chub and a barbel would be a great result at most venues! And just being at this wonderful fishery is enough really. Had a good chat with Stefan. Great to meet such an enthusiastic bailiff - he clearly loves his job and helping his guests with knowledge , guidance and good humour.

Magnificent days fishing. I lost count of the Chub after 25 so 30 is a low estimate. Chub were in the range 2 to 5 lbs. The best was 5lb 2 oz. The barbel were again 2 to 5 lb. Not enormous but you knew they were there. All fish caught using feeder - most on meat.

Village must have been missing an idiot!!!! Not a problem with canoes..actually quite enjoy the banter!
Fished the very top swim , great access down to waters edge, fishing tight on the inside due to canoe traffic and two fellas arrived out of control spinning around ,on the calmest bit of river you’ve ever seen and actually bent my bankstick. I explained ….. even with my limited knowledge… the person steering the canoe is situated at the rear.. not the front.. Go figure !!
Strange day fishing wise… everything seemed good but…..hey ho ????????‍♂️

Excellent track down to the fishery and swims well made with ground spike and ropes provided. Only had one barbel but will not be put off returning as it is a beautiful well maintained fishery.
