Rather more inclement weather meant only one of the group fished for a couple of hours in the morning. The result was one Barbel.
In less than favourable conditions the four of us had 36 Barbel and 22 Chub in essentially three days of fishing. The average stamp of Barbel was around 7 - 8lb with a couple of scraper doubles, and the biggest Chub was approaching 5lb.
All in all an excellent trip to a stunning beat. Roll on next September!

Weather better suited to sunbathing rather than catching Barbel but still another excellent day. All fish falling during the evening this time but understandable considering the kayak activity that was relentless at points. Pellet feeder doing the business again.

Despite conditions being similar to the previous day the fish seemed to switch on, with Barbel coming to all rods throughout the day at both the top and bottom ends of the beat.
A superb day was had by all.

The combination of bright sunshine with a low clear river made fishing very tough today. Just the two Barbel falling to pellet feeder for one of the group at last knockings. A handful of Chub throughout the day kept the interest going however.
A lovely beat which could benefit from the addition of a few more swims.

First time on this river . Fantastic setting . But it is very rugged , not that many accessible swims for coarse fishing . River was running at a steady pace . Holding bottom with 3 oz . Never had first bite till 4 , lost one , landed one 8 lb 6 oz . A lot of canoes. But I did expect that as it was a bank holiday. I would definitely give it another go.

Last day of a 5 Day trip on a falling River. Surely today was going to be a slower day for aching arms after the previous 4 action filled days on the Wye. The three Whiskerteers from Yorkshire signed off in style. Barbel from the off fell to all three rods through out this beat ,applauded by the on looking Kingfishers perching on the odd branch to watch the action before joining in .Pellet feeder was king today. Five days on the mighty Wye brought a total of 202 Barbel and 43 Chub to three rods. What can i say Dream fishing at its best. Thank you Wye & Usk back in Oct when i have recovered.
