A red letter day, despite the rain and wind. 15 barbel banked, several more lost. Largest fish weighed at 10lb 4 oz with several more just under 10lb and smallest fish around 5lbs. All fish is superb condition. An amazing afternoons fishing in solitude in the rain. Quite magnificent. Thank you.

A very nice day for all 3 off us. A big thanks to Stephan not just for this visit but also our 2 previous visits. The Do's and Do not's very much appreciated. His help makes the day more enjoyable.

8 barbel all ranged from 6-9lb, which is a good stamp for the Wye and 3 lost in snags. 27 Chub 1-5lb. All caught throughout day.

Tough day but very enjoyable nonetheless. We covered both ends of the fishery but couldn’t buy a bite early on.
The afternoon was more fruitful though. Great fishery, made all the better by the hard work being put in by Stefan. He is also definitely worth listening too if you get the opportunity to chat with him.
If I have one criticism, it is that more ropes are required to help get in and out of the swims at this time of year.

The River had great colour although wasn't as high as I had hoped; I guess the recent rain wasn't in the mountains. It was a challenge to find the Barbel but eventually found 5. Three at 6lb+ the others around 4lb. All the Chub were around the 3lb mark.

Despite the improved river level it was a tough day fishing wise and add into that the horrible weather and consequent super slippery banks then it made for for 3 rather downcast anglers. This is a great beat and Stefan has done a great job in improving access all along the beat but he can't do this alone. There has to be a greater effort from the landowners to improve things for coarse anglers to justify the prices they charge and to improve safety. Yes, I understand the Wye is a SSSI and I know it's slippery when it rains but when it comes to agricultural matters, the landowners seem to have considerable license in what they do regarding the river banks, cattle do far more damage to river bank flaura than anglers ever will. I've also noticed that other fisheries along the Wye have put some considerable effort into improving access and safety for anglers which has been done in harmony with the river bank environment. Is a little of that on this beat to much to ask?

A two foot rise at MHC for our trip giving it a lovely colour and pace and the recent drop in water temperature, plus mostly overcast skies suggested we might have finally hit it sock on. Two fished for 2 1/2 hours in the morning and had 2 barbel each and 4 chub, one top one bottom. Met the other two for a nice lunch in the White Lion and returned to fish 1400 to 1930. 2 more for one of the morning guys and 3 barbel & 10 chub for one of the afternooners both down the bottom. The top two had 10 each plus Chub. Most caught on gb feeder with 10mm halibuts but this died later with a change to glugged boillies producing 3 late fish for one. Nice chat with Stefan off to do some strimming ready for the forecast water rise. Keep up the great work. 12 was my number.
A very good day.
