Arrived at beat at 9am and as others had said the river was very low but as I told the lads the fish are still in there. Buzzards and kingfishers a plenty, what a way to start the day. Tom and Mark started off down stream and me and David went to the top of the beat but couldn't fish the end peg as there was a salmon fisherman down there and we didn't want to be to close. Tom fished just above rope swim and got a 3lb chub and a 1 1/2lb barbel before 11:30am then at 1pm got a 7lb barbel in great nick. These were caught on soft pellets wrapped in paste. Me and David had a few knocks up stream but eventually we moved down stream to the rope swim at around 2pm where David had a 2lb barbel. It was perfection in miniature. I then moved downstream and fished amongst the nettles and got 4 chub up to 3lb all on meat. It was very hot and sunny and it went dead. Me and David went back up to the last peg at the top of the beat, I then had 2 chub of about 4 1/2lb and an eel of over 3lb (hard to guess with eels but was very thick). Then at around 7:45pm, David got a barbel of over 10lb, a lovely fish (caught on 8mm red and black halibut pellets). Tom and Mark were down stream, it was getting dark when Tom who was touch ledgering landed a 10lb barbel of his own. A great end to the day. Mark had struggled to get amongst the fish, but had tomorrow at Sugwas Court to go at, this beat has everything, great scenery plenty of pegs and great access. Mind the ramp on the track down.

River low and as such only a few swims that had any depth were viable options. The fish were caught throughout the day from both the upper and lower pools. Pellet, boilie were used and both baits caught used with a feeder. A very acrobatic pike kept us amused whilst leaping for silver fish after the feeder went into the top pool.
A very nice stretch but limited options in these low conditions, worth considering taking the float tackle I reckon.
As mentioned before, do beware of the ramp. You can just about swing round it without going over if you don't feel confident your car will make it. First visit to this section and I'd like to come back but maybe with a bit of water on.

Fished all day for one small barbel. Started at the very top peg. The last time I fished here I had twelve barbel and three chub, but very different this time. Fished for two hours for no bites, and lost three feeders on the snags so I moved to the bottom swim on the fishery before the woods, where I finally got the barbel which at least avoided a total blank.
I also explored the wood at the bottom of the fishery. A lot of clearance work has been done here and there are some great looking spots. The problem is that generally about eight foot above the water which makes netting very difficult, and would be hazardous in wet conditions.

"When the wind is from the East, the fishing is the least"! That combined with very low clear water and a sunny day resulted in me catching only a suntan. Tried everything, pellets, luncheon meat, bread flake. Even trotted bread flake. Nada. It wasn't until sunset I even had a twitch on the rod. I would have been happy to just get an Eel. I picked a spot where I could not see the bottom, but I guess the conditions were against me. It is a beautiful spot though and access is good. I'll revisit when there's more flow.
