Decided to start later and fish into the evening. Fished end of beat. Became rather hot when sun broke through. Caught barbel about 8lbs midday and a large eel late afternoon. Caught nothing further.
Thank you Adam for your helpful information and hope to meet you again. Another enjoyable day on the Wye. Thank you WUF.

First of 4 days on this stretch, very bright and hot, river low, A, J and K fished upstream half of fishery. A managed a Barbel of 5lbs late in the day, J had 2 smallish Chub and K blanked from the upstream end swim.
16th July - second day, L stayed in bed, same conditions, S decided to have a day in the pacier water and caught numerous small Chublets and Dace on the stick float with corn or small banded pellet, P blanked.
17th July - third day, same conditions, K caught 2 Barbel to 8lbs and a small Chub, A had 3 small Chub and J managed a late Barbel of 7lbs 8oz. Fish caught mainly on Essex baits barrel boilies.
18th July - day four, even hotter today, L walked downstream to the fast water but blanked and P had a Barbel of 7lbs 13oz and a 3lb Chub on meat in the first swim before the gate.
All in all this stretch fished hard, the weather certainly didn't help but also the major construction works being undertaken at this venue may have had an effect.

Only fished from 4pm to avoid the extreme heat. 1 average size barbel caught at 7pm saved the day. River is now low and coloured - algae bloom perhaps?

Blank. This was really due to conditions though as we were over fish and could see them. Nice beat with plenty to go at in the low water. As it was our last day of the trip we headed back before 7pm for a social. Great week and great locations. We'll be back. Thank you all.

10 barbel to 8lb 7oz caught. Similar pattern to when we fished the stretch 2 days before where fish were caught early and late in the day. All fish were caught on pellet.
In the afternoon I found two other anglers fishing and when challenged they said that they were waiting to buy a day ticket. They were politely asked to leave and did without any problem.

Hot and sunny with a low river was always going to be "rock hard." Four of us fished many swims all day with very little success.
The lower length of this fishery is seriously overgrown with head high nettles and very poor access. As there is no vehicle access here we would have thought WUF could have created at least a small trail for the more intrepid angler. I mentioned this to Adam Fisher but was told "no one goes down there so we dont bother". Maybe people would if it was a little easier?

11 barbel caught all on various combinations of feeder fished pellet. The river was low and due to hot sunny conditions the fish were taken before 9.30am and after 5.15pm.

Scorching hot day, so decided to fish morning and evening only to avoid canoes and sunburn. The morning session passed without the merest hint of a bite, but fared much better in the evening with 6 Barbel between us. All were over 6 lbs with the best fish exactly 9 lbs.
