Outstanding day in fast rising coloured water and a murky rainy warm day. River 3 feet up and another 2 feet up by the end. A fair amount of grass made life difficult So different from last weeks trip where it was all chub and that's what's great about fishing. Largest must have been a double and caught as I packed up in the 15 minutes it took to land it meant I left as dark was falling. All fish on pellet caught close to the bank nearest swim to the car park which made it all really easy.

Its not always like this ! All the other anglers caught well as well making it a big total for the beat Must have been 20 fish plus .

3 of us fished and had an unbelievable day - one that we will remember fondly, not counting the diabolical VAR decision that tarred the ending of the day.

The average size of fish was fantastic with a double falling to each rod and a smattering of 7's, 8's and the odd 9 making an appearance.

Got to give a special shout-out to whoever it was that cut the pegs out as a lot of work has gone in. The banks were deadly after the recent rain though and one of our party slipped and sprained their wrist whilst returning a barbel where there was no vegetation to break up the slick muddy surface.

Standard feeder and ledger tactics. Attempting to avoid smaller fish with bigger baits. Very hot and bright day so we weren't expecting much but managed to get the barbel feeding. All fish decent stamp - biggest barbel between 6-7lb, biggest chub 4lb.
