Continued where I left off from Saturday but this time the barbel were cooperating. Took all three on feeder / pellet plus lots of chub including some 4lb’ers on trotted breadflake. Barbel were 7lb, 6lb, and 7.5lb

3 Barbel, 23 Chub, 1 Other

Lots of chub on feeder and float from the first swim above the gravel run in the lower section. Tried many other swims with meat, pellet etc but couldn’t locate the barbel. Loads of chub around. One barbel lost later in the afternoon that took off like a train and snapped an 8lb hook link like it was cotton. Many thanks to the fellow angler who gave me some bread when mine ran out.

River was low, weather was cloudy. Caught all fish on pellet at the top end. Was nice to talk to Stefan and a fellow angler from Cheltenham

A great day on the feeder - alternating meat and pellet to pick up the chub - averaging 2.5lbs, biggest 3.5lb. Thanks to Stefan for the tips on barbel location for future visits

Fished the upper end of the beat. Nice to see some weed back in the river.

Sunnier than we would have liked. The 3 of us started down the bottom end utilising the lovely new parking spot. Two fished the really fishy looking beach but could only manage a couple of Chub fishing bombs over loose pellets. The 3rd fished above in a deeper run and had a few Chub on the float. Another move further up produced the 6 barbel all from one swim, along with a few chub again on bombs over pellets with boillies. The biggest was only about 5lb but really feisty and then went back well too.

We had one last try up the top end which is quite weedy at present but this only produced one Chub. So a nice day and thanks to Stefan for all the great work done on the beat.
