Terrible, as is much of the river this year. Definitely worried about the future of the river. Thought it might just be an off day but looking at other reports - a lot of blanks all over the shop.

2 Chub

Always a pleasure to be here and the fishing is secondary on this beautiful beat....It was a touch slow for me but both the Barbel were good fish and having caught a Perch the previous day at Lower Cannon Bridge on sweetcorn I followed it up here with an Eel on the same bait...interesting...Obviously some work has been undertaken which has enhanced this venue and thanks to those involved for their efforts. The beat appears to be fishing well despite the low water and am pleased to report the fish all fought well and recovered quickly.

2 Barbel, 6 Chub, 1 Other

Only fished till lunchtime , big thanks to Stef the bailif and the gentleman I saw at the gates and later on , it was my first time on the wye so appreciated the tips !!! Caught a lovely barbel on the pallet swim . Will definitely be back .

1 Barbel, 5 Chub

Only fished till 11.00 am due to needing to get home early. Had a Barbel on first chuck but he snagged me, must have spooked any others in the swim, but managed a couple of decent chub before packing up.

2 Chub

Overcast day. Stayed in same swim all day. River looked ideal. 2 barbel lost then 1 landed at 6lb 3oz on feeder with pellet.
14 Chubb various sizes up to 4lb 12oz on float with luncheon meat. Excellent work by Stephan cutting in steps and supplying ropes for safe access to swims. Thanks to W&UF. I shall return.

My last 3 visits to the wonderful Wye resulted in just a baby barbel and 6 chub but hopes were still high given nice warm overcast conditions on what is a new beat for me.

I fished 3 different swims and managed barbel of 5, 5.5 and 6.5, and chub up to 4.5. I had the barbel on pellet feeder with assorted hook baits, and the chub on the float with meat and hemp. All in all a triffic days fishing on a beautiful beat when most of my changes produced fish. Thanks to WUF for making the fisheries available and providing a quality searchable website.

3 Barbel, 11 Chub

River quite low, quite heavy canoe traffic morning - early afternoon, bites for static baits hard to come by, fish taken on the float to bread, after 6pm. meat on the lead proved successful, Barbel conspicuous by their absence. Lot of work being done on the swims here, much appreciated, thank you.

3 Anglers fished same conditions and tactics as the previous day. Cannoes were even worse today!!

Great to be back on this stretch. Well done to Stephen the bailiff for putting ropes into the swims .
Pobably one of the most scenic stretches i have fished on the Wye. Considering the low levels bright sunshine and the cannoe challenge . Not a bad days fishing. Usual tactics Groundbait feeder and pellet
