Not the best day weather wise, and a bit hung over from a night out in Ross. Managed 2, 8 inch brownies and a small grayling. Beautiful spot will be back.

River, and fishing, suffered from tree felling on the Malthouse beat resulting in leaves and branches on and in the river. No rises until late afternoon when Pale Watery and olives appeared. Magnificent 12" trout and small grayling caught on Diawl Bach.

4 trout to 15" and 4 grayling to 14" on a mix of Klinkhammer and Sawyers Killer Grub, NZ nymph style. Raining heavily from soon after I got there, [1pm] until I stopped fishing at 6pm. The water was coloured but only slightly up. A lovely beat that in better conditions would have been even more enjoyable to fish.

Caught and returned three brownies 10 – 12 inches in size. Two on black nymph and one on klinkhammer. Conditions difficult with rain and wind all day so fished downstream nymph mainly. Lost many more, mostly taking on small black nymph with a silver rib, particularly in shallows just above rapid sections. Section of river from makeshift barbeque down to below house fished best. A challenging, enthralling and exciting day.

No fish caught. One or two tugs at nymphs. Water low and weather windy and raining on and off. Only one rise seen, otherwise no activity at all. Dissappointing. Beer at pub excellent!
