It’s worth noting that there’s a sign in the farmyard that states no vehicles other than 4x4s are allowed beyond the farm buildings area, which when you see the track down to the fields and river you'll understand why as it’s exceptionally muddy and on a slope.
No fish landed although did lose a probable chub fishing over the flooded beach area.

River well up and coloured but steady. Fished the downstream end in the morning for a Chub and an Eel, before moving to the Upstream limit where I found the Barbel, which seemed to have a brief feeding spell of about an hour at midday. 7 and 9lb respectively. Also lost a Barbel to a hook pull.
Regarding the vehicle access to this beat; it would be stupid to attempt to drop down the track from the farmyard towards the river in anything but a good 4 x 4. The track is a literal river of Cowsh… and the field is a quagmire. I tried to park sensibly in the farmyard then took the short walk down.

River had risen overnight and was fast and heavily coloured. Fished the beach but eventually had to move when the water continued to rise. Fished meat and pellet with feeder all day, no bites. Could not drive down the track as too slippery.

River looked fine with good flow and a tinge of colour, so expected a few more fish. Bright sunshine all day maybe didn’t help.
All fish caught on boilies from various swims.
