Mostly overcast day, max temp I think was around 13 degrees. I ventured between Island Run and Tail of Rock Pool with a Yellow Bodied Klinkhammer which I had been lucky with before on a nearby stretch but nothing. Changed to Pheasant Tailed Nymph and took 4 within a 90 minute period (lost 2 and 2 other knocks) at the Rock Pool. 1st was a good size - maybe 1/2 lb, the others smaller. Was only there for 5 hours total so pleased to get something having travelled a long way. All fish returned, will upload images if it lets me..

Super day at The Rectory despite nil return. The refurbished fishing hut and decking are really lovely to relax in.

Llanstephan gauge around 1’5 today, 12.3C and clearing. The Llangoed fish on the weekend raised the hope that there might be a few fish in the beat, but nothing seen, not even a rising trout.

The river was a little high and fast but with good clarity. 11 trout split between nymphing (The Run) with Quill Perdigon and dry March Brown various imitations (The Flats). Beat looks very well looked after.

Sunny/cloudy/windy day. Usual Rock and Island pools were too deep 1-2’ higher than our normal. V tricky wading but managed a few on Dark Knight. Midday went to Gravel Catch. Wonderful short-lived hatch of LDO, caught 4 decent trout to JGE and sedge patterns. Very splashy rises, lots of bird life also enjoying hatch (swallows, martins, wagtails). Nice stretch when levels are up.
