Unfortunately, the river came up sharply into flood and wasn't fishable in my opinion.

Nil for salmon, although conditions didn't look bad. Water at 10 degrees C. A warm and sunny day and the trout were active after large dark olives plus march browns at midday. The Wye has also woken up, it seems. There was also a rather confused looking bat fluttering around in the sunshine. I presume that had just woken up.

Very cold frost didn't really shift all day. -2 when we arrived it had been -4 during the night and maxed at +2 in the afternoon. Fished the bottom half of the beat, no bites...and unfortunately no fish.....probably due to the conditions.

Lovely day but fishing difficult in bright sun. Hard frost and foggy. Brightened up around lunchtime. Two small grayling and 1 OOS Trout. Glorious weather and river looked a picture. Walked right down to the bottom beat to warm up. Odd Olive seen and saw a couple of small splashy rises.
