River conditions very good. Lovely day out even though the fish didn't want to play! Comfortable stay and good food at the Griffin Inn.

We fished Tynewedd on the way to Aberystwyth - and Gromain on the way back. A lovely soft day with a trickle of pale wateries hatching meant this was a much more successful day. The trout went to 14" but the grayling went to 18" - the best a lovely big solid cock fish that must have been well over 2lbs. All on dries and all returned. As was the clonker that took the fly and just sat there whilst I pulled - no movement, then the fly came away! Ah well, the 18" er was good compensation.
Squadrons of avian predators in the vicinity - a heron, 2 cormorants and at least 4 goosanders! But super fishing none the less.

Pleasant day for it but only one 8" brownie to show for a day's enjoyment! We saw one other trout and no other fish at all, pretty stretch of water though.
A couple of things need updating on the beat notes provided: Crossing Llanstephan suspension bridge is difficult unless one decides to ignore the No Entry signs that deny access from the A470 side and the fishing hut has a padlock but the code is not on the notes. It may be easier to say it is not to be used, if that is the intention.
WUF note - The 'One Way' sign is a temporary measure while works are carried out on the next bridge upriver.

Great day out. Lots of wildlife, dippers, saw bills sps, a couple of cormorants. No fish. Missed one on a dry. A few rising on the far bank from the hut. Better luck next time.

Rain for most of the day. No fish rising but caught 10 trout on nymph patterns. Glad to get out of the rain in fishing hut! If you are taking your car down the track
off main road for the first time go slow!.. drops straight down to river and not much turning space at the bottom, but wading harder than the parking. Felt soles a must.
Enjoyed the day and a great stretch of river.

First day of a four day adventure, fishing beats that were new to me, staying in my van at campsites. Ten grayling to 13" and six trout to 10" taken on combinations of tan klink or para adams, gold head PT or tungsten black bead head PT.

Sunny spells with occasional light rain and wind. Very little surface activity, although a pearly parachute elicited a couple of acrobatic rises. Most fish taken on black copper john, only two on the dry. Trout were 6 to 9 inches, grayling 8 to 12. A thoroughly lovely day.

I didn't arrive until after lunch. Strong downstream breeze, so down and across used pretty much all day. Huge numbers of small 6" suicidal trout which became a nuisance after a while, but very encouraging for the future! Changing up to size 10's seemed to put most, but not all of them off. Most fish caught in faster water on heavy nymphs including 7 grayling all 1 to 1.5lb. Nice big chub caught under the bridge around 5lb, a good fight in the flow and put a good bend in my 5wt rod. As evening approached the wind did die down and there were a few small fish rising but nothing really interested in the dry. Great day!
