Nil return. Water rising and colouring very quickly and waterproofs failing so called it a day after an hour. Beautiful location and with a little less water a good opportunity but beaten by the weather yet again!

Spent most of the day at middle section near the hut.
Tried for Salmon until early aftenoon - none seen, no bites, nothing taken.
Trout slightly more promising in the afternoon: three brown trout, two grayling hooked; nothing big enough for the pot so all returned.

Water height and clarity were good but I did not move any salmon. However a 4lb chub did take my size 12 fly - I'm not sure who was more surprised - but he is back in the water to provide future sport to someone with lighter tackle.

Did not fish until 5pm due to the bright sunny conditions. Saw one fish in the Spring Pool but no takes. Lots of good trout showing in Bachwy in the late evening! Maybe better to fish for trout!

Water 2'2" on Llanstephan gauge and clearing. Fresh 8lber (no lice) from Leaning Willow mid morning on a smallish Usk Grub. Fish took 20yds above the boil in front of the hut, almost on the dangle. Latched onto another for a few seconds later in the afternoon in the tail of Spring Pool which came to nowt. News of 1 lost and 1 landed at Caemawr rounded off a very good day.
