Not much action today.Apart from the Shad that is.They were all over parts of the beat today and avoiding them while fishing sub surface was difficult. I think they must have had a good feeding season at sea as the average size seems to be quite lot bigger than in recent years. 26 degrees by 2.00pm so an early finish. The other fish were small taken on spiders or nymphs.

Sunny , 19 degrees and 1’1” on the gauge. 2 x Shad and a BT - all in Heirag Pool. Stunning water.

First trip of the season, plenty of water in the river maybe a tad too much for me. Yeah you've guessed it a big fat Nil for me.
Haven’t managed a blank for many a season, we’re all human!!!! Great to get out though.

I fished with a friend. The owner was very helpful in showing us where to fish and where wading was difficult. It is an interesting beat and will take more than one visit to appreciate its full potential. The water was just below 2 feet on the gauge on this beat so higher as a result of some heavy overnight rain which made wading more difficult if you do not know the river. No rain during the day. Fished with the fly, size 8

Stayed at the conveniently located Griffin Inn in Llyswen which met all our need and provided a pleasant base.

river looked good but alas nothing seen or caught but saw my first swallows of the year

wet and windy today but tried. no good

Lovely beat could have done with an extra 6” of water , high teen Pike caught in the Ferry Pool on a size 10 double Dee Monkey

No salmon seen or touched. 6 inches of additional water would have helped, although I am sure the fish were there just in the deeper holding water.
