Dour day, continual rain and blustery cool breeze. No hatch or rising fish and couldnt tempt any with nymph

River at 9" Tried the low water spots and moved a fish to the sunray in the Spring pool gutter. Fish came twice to the sunray, but wouldn't look at a wet fly.

Hard going just three small trout between us.

A rather cold day on the Wye with little moving or rising. Seven trout, the two best c. 1.5 lb and 1 lb. Caught on CDC deer hair dun (14), and two on GRHE (14). One salmon parr. All fish released.

Trout reluctant to feed until dusk.

All on dry Danica pattern, all returned including 1 Salmon parr

all caught on Very small nymphs

Fished in the evening chucked everything apart from the kitchen sink at them all with no result. Looks like a hard year ahead

Started well but cold wind stopped the hatch. Nice to catch a small dace to add to species list Very slippery wading but not always needed
