As usual this beat produced a good quantity of trout, sizes ranging between 8oz and 2lb 8oz. Both dries and nymphs took fish. Best flies were Adams, CDC's, Hares Ears.
A warm and mostly sunny day saw good numbers of large olives hatching on and off throughout the day with some very large ones coming off in late afternoon.
The moderately fast water seemed to produce the most fish.
An excellent day.

Very warm (20-22C)and sunny with almost cloudless sky for most of day. Upstream breeze. River low and clear - water temp 14C. Light hatch of olives in late morning. Caught 5 on dry upwing Adams size 14. Best fish 1lb 6oz. Smaller, rather than larger fish moving. River needs refreshing. Hopefully the forecast rain will help, as the dry conditions not good for insect life.

I didn't start fishing until about midday. No fish rising on this fabulous beat so started fishing French Nymph style at the very bottom. First 3 casts produced 3 WBT, 2x10 inches and one beautiful 17 inch specimen. However, just as quickly as the action started, so it finished. Not one other fish fell to me all afternoon.

Overcast and with a cold downstream wind, there was no activity for most of the morning. Moved one fish on a nymph and saw a fish move around 1pm.
At about 1:30pm a few Olives and March Browns started to come off the water, by 2pm it was a steady trickle and the trout started to rise. Had one fish of approx 2 pounds.
The hatch was short lived and things quietened down quickly.
Lost one more fish on a nymph.
An excellent day that summed up early season fishing.
Cold with no signs of life until an all too brief hatch brings the river to life. A very nice beat.

I've had warmer days fishing for grayling in November. A brisk NE wind blowing down stream didn't bode well.

Started at the top of the beat, the other side of the bridge. Fished a mixed team of nymphs and spiders . Dropped back to the stretch above the Cynrig. Caught a nice fish around 12 inches . May have been a stocky from its colouring.

Relatively warmer from around 1pm, LDO's and other little brown jobs hatching steadily for the next two hours. No fish rising and none tempted by my olive Klink.

My new Kelly kettle provided a much needed warm brew !

Started fishing at 11.50am. A very short (5 min, sharp and intense hatch of March Brown at 12.20pm but no fish rising to them as the downstream wind was blowing them straight off the river. Caught very nice fish of 2lb on dry March Brown fishing 'blind' just after the hatch had occurred. 2 further trout, each @ 1lb 4oz caught on dry olive around 1.30pm in fast water near top of beat. Things became quiet at 2pm so fished 2 nymphs across and downstream. Not much action with this technique but caught a 1lb trout on pheasant tail nymph. A colder day with sun and cloud and a persistent downstream breeze.

Better weather conditions for fishing than 23/4. Cloudy, downstream breeze, air temp. 15-18C, water temp. 11C. Arrived at noon. An excellent but brief hatch of (late?) March Brown started at 12.10 pm and continued for 20 mins. Many fish rising. Had 2 on dry March Brown(Heddon). Moved upstream in search of a recurrence and was fortunate to come across a hatch of LDOs at 1 pm with plenty of fish rising. This continued sporadically for about one and a half hours. Caught 4 on dry olive. Trout averaged 1lb 2oz with two at 1lb 8oz. A nice day's fishing!
