A good day's fishing, the river was clear. Most fish came in the last hour of light on the run in to sewage pool, P-T Nymph on point and Invitica on the dropper casting to rising fish which were feeding on insects fallen from the bushes. Cast tight to bushes, had 5 and lost 4 from 9pm to 10.30pm all around 3/4lb. Fantasic sport. Sun with cloud for most of the day. The other fish came from a team of 3 wets flies throught the beat.

A beautiful beat, despite the low water. Both fish came to small dries, Grey Duster and Kite's Imperial. There was a good hatch at times and plenty of rises later on.

I spent hours and hours stalking a very large fish that appeared to be sipping what I think were emerging caenis - of course there was nothing in my fly box that matched it! Next time...

Changeable weather and wind direction made presentation hard for me. Water very low, very slow in the glides but was clear. No hatch that I saw. Managed 6 small WBT all on an F-Fly.

2 trout caught and released around dusk on a dry fly. Access to the river is very easy, so is wading the flats.

Temperature peaked at 28 degrees, with a very strong wind, not my first choice for fly fishing conditions! Fish could be found rising at some shallow pool tails, and in the faster broken water of 'run ins'. We persevered, and lost many fish, as they slashed at the fly in the fast flow, not always getting a good hook hold. We managed three for the day, with one of 1.75lbs. and two of a pound; not a spectacular result', but an enjoyable day.
