Perfect conditions early in the day with fish rising mainly on the flats. Difficult to temp but managed most fish on dries apart from 2 larger fish of 19 and 20 inches on a gold headed hares ear from the faster water at the top end of the beat. A very enjoyable day with my Dad catching his first wild river brownie.

First time on this beat and enjoyed it . very nice stretch of water. river levels low with a strong continual wind made it quite tricky. plenty of fly on the water brook duns , uprights etc ten trout to french nyphing and three to the dry. fishing the dry was very frustrating with several good fish rising but casting a real problem. size wise all between 10-22 inches. shame the wind was up all day as there were fish rising freely for 2 hours. will fish this again but with a few more inches on the gauge as i am sure you could achieve a good catch here with some pace in the water

Started fishing around 1 pm, cloud had dissipated and day now quite warm. Steady hatch of olives although no consistent rises. Started fishing a duo. After snatches on the Klink, I switched to a dry. Caught 3 handsome WBT on a soft hackled Olive from Onstream, last one being shade short of 3lb! Worth the 450 mile found trip.

12 trout caught averaging a pound with the best weighing 1.75lb. Should have caught more.
Conditions were pretty good with the river at a nice height. There were sporadic hatches of olives and march browns all day with the fish enthusiastically responding resulting in at times tremendously frantic sport. Most fish caught on dries and emergers. Will definitely return to this beat.

Difficult but enjoyable day. Strong wind and hail at times but with sunny periods to compensate. Not much fly life showing and very few fish rising so most of the time fishing with nymphs and a braided leader or Klink as an indicator. 5 brown trout up to 1 Ib caught with probably another 3 or 4 lost. All trout returned.

The river was in beautiful condition with plenty of fish evident although a cold NW wind and temperature of just 10C made fishing difficult. There were sporadic hatches of olives and March Browns from 11.00 but no rising fish until a slight increase in temperature around 14.00. Even then they were only in sheltered pockets under trees on the far side. In the end each angler got one fish of about 10-11 inches on a Parachute Adams and Gold Head PTN. They were both in great condition with one returned and one kept for the pot.
