Blanked. Had a nice one on for a minute at the top end of the lake, where the stream comes in. It stayed deep and didn't jump. No other takes.

A few on dries others on traditional wets. Biggest was a cracking 14" dark spotted cock fish. Good day.

Very upset that we did not cached any fish. We`ve been there for 8 hrs.

Blustery conditions today. Most fish came to traditional wets with no particular pattern being more popular than the others on the cast.

A late afternoon/ evening session. Ideal conditions brought about an olive hatch & plenty of surface activity.

Started fishing in bouts of heavy rain interspersed with heavier spells. After lunch blustery but dry. Wet fly fishing with a range of flies but without success

Slightly overcast weather conditions with a variable breeze. Fished along the dam during the afternoon and early evening. Few fish showing, so fished with a variety of traditional wet and nymph patterns sub surface. Missed two takes to a Diawl Bach early on. Two WBT of approximately 12" each taken on GRHE and Damsel nymph patterns and released.

Caught nothing

Turned up at Beacons Reservoir at around threeish hoping that some evening dry fly sport would be on the cards. It was blowing a nice," trouty "westerly breeze and overcast with low clouds when I arrived at this picturesque reservoir ,deep in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. Initially I fished the roadside shore and with a team of two, my home tied bibio variant and PTN and it wasn't long before I was into a very strong Beacons brownie , which when netted looked very similar to some of the brownies in the irish loughs , beautifully marked , a quick pic and straight back in . I did work the area around the dam wall using various flies , butchers , Montanas and gold beaded nymphs but no takers so headed back to the easterly shore , and early evening good picked up another superbly conditoned fish , taking my version of a Kate McClaren with confidence !!!!! The last fish of the day was in the shallower area of the reservoir and hammered my bibio pattern just in the ripple. A fun few hours , and bumped into a pleasant chap , Alun , who is a member of the Ospreys club locally and purchase season permits for the reservoir and beats on the Taff. I'll be returning again to this charming water again very soon . . . . . . . . . . .
