Overcast, little windy at times. Started near the crumbling stones and worked my way up the the river entrance and to other side... didn’t see any fish rising. Very muddy up the river entrance and shallow.
Unfortunately no fish or pulls . Tried naturals, nymphs, small black flies etc

Lovely place. I am quite inexerienced and was probably using the wrong flies - used GRHE, cruncher and Diawhl Bach nymphs, but no bites.

Bright, warm day with the reservoir very low. The concrete features at the top end were exposed. Had a great follow right up to my rod tip in the top end river mouth from a leviathan of a trout which in the end failed to commit but left an impressive wake!
Ended up with just the one of about 8" from the place where the stream comes in by the bridge pillars.
Lovely to be out in the wilds nonetheless. I still can't believe such a great fishery is only just over an hour from Bristol.

Never fished Talybont during the Summer. Water levels were very low with much of the bank exposed, but it meant we could fish the far wooded bank. Fished it hard. Covered a lot of water. Didn't get so much as a pull and my mate picked up a single brownie right at the end of the session. Beautiful location and, despite blanking, a really enjoyable day out.

The reservoir is fishing very well - 26 trout caught and released over 3 short visits recently. I've found average size to be excellent at 14 to 15 inches (1lb+) with a couple at 18'' and 19'' both over 2lb.
However you will be wasting your time fishing in the middle of the day at this time of year. Either go very early morning (7am till 10.30am) or late evening (7.30pm to dark) it is then that the fish feed and can be found in the shallow marginal areas.
If you must go in the day time, choose a windy wet day for it.
