First trout on a Green Peter second on a Wickhams 3 more takes which I failed to connect with wind completely died at 3 o'clock lovely golden brownies

Very strong wind. Difficult conditions. Nil return

Cold day. Couple of tugs but little else. Just needed the fresh air. Plenty of that!!

One smallish trout took a dark spider at 11am. Frustratingly it was not hooked for long, but judging by the rod bend it was about half a pound. There were some fish rising intermittently. This was about three quarters of the way up the reservoir from Tal Y Bont.
Later I fished the top end where the sedge banks were flooded and hooked a much heavier fish on a brown damsel fly which gave a very good account of itself but again shed the hook! That was at 2pm.
The weather varied between balmy to chilly when the wind picked up. The fish I lost has definitely given me a taste to go back. Superb scenery! So, no fish landed but a very exciting day and there are some big wild ones in there.

First time fishing at Talybont. Tricky weather conditions with dreaded easterly and rain from midday onwards. Fished the end where the river enters the reservoir. Covered lots of water. Caught three very pretty brownies. Two took the Black Pennell on the dropper and the other took a Red Arsed Hopper on point. Saw only my second ever otter in the wild. Great day! Definitely be back when it's warmer.

Wet and windy. 1 x 2.5lb Brown on a spider, cast to a rise.

Reservoir full to running over dam . Light winds and overcast all looked good .After a quite morning fish started to move in the afternoon and a few olives about . Fish not too keen but ended with 3 fine conditioned WB trout.
