Beautiful spot - reservoir level high and rising. Though several fish were seen to jump they declined all we had to offer. We spent the day on the West side near the old stone piers. This was our third and last days fishing - we had a lovely time - albeit not many fish caught. Fishing Passport is a wonderful scheme making access to these special places very easy - especially with the help offered by their friendly staff. The supporting documentation is also excellent. Thank you.

Lovely day up at Talybont. Banks very flooded and boggy across the top end, hard work to cross over. Worth it to catch a beautiful wild brown to a brown hackled wet fly.

After an uneventful visit four weeks earlier this was no better. The wind was from the North and picked up quite well early on but apart from one fish fluked (and soon lost) when winding in I could touch nothing. There was virtually no fly on the wing or on the water to distract trout from their caddis hunting, and neither a deer-hair floater nor sombre hackled wets could prompt the desired response. The surface water is quite warm now but I have known good sport at Talybont in similar summer conditions, and after plenty of wind and rain to refresh the lake the lack of patrolling trout in the surface layers and mid-water is rather puzzling.

No fish at all. Big fat 0. Waist of time and money.
