3 of us fished and caught without trying too hard. Fish came throughout the beat, mainly to feeder tactics. Found plenty of chub off the croy 2-4lb. Biggest barbel 10.5.

River still quite high making access to swims difficult but not impossible with care . Had a lot of tentative bites on feeder tactics all day but failed to connect. Halibut and crushed hemp groundbait. Halibut pellets and luncheon meat baits . Disappointed not too catch but that's fishing

Had hoped that with the warmer weather the fish would have fed. Arrived before first light and baited six swims. Was very grateful for the one Chub that I caught. Tough as water was still cold.

River was up at 3.7m on the Mordiford gauge, and very slowly dropping, but the stretch is easily fished at this depth as you can fish straight from the fields. Float fished deadbaits for the day but sadly no Pike, I'll be back before the end of the season for another crack though.

Challenging day, torrential rain most the day, was hoping the warm rain would turn the barbel on… but sadly not…

Still delighted with 4 beautiful chub on meat and pellet. Levels were awkward, only a few swims I could safely fish … if the river was higher, or lower, would have had more options.
