No fish caught, river was very coloured.
The land owner (farmer) claimed the fishing rights were not available for day ticket fishing, he asked that the Wye and Usk foundation contact him to clarify the arrangement. Thanks

Low water and lack of access points to the river make for a limited day's fishing! Shame as its a lovely stretch!

Various baits and methods used. Fish caught feeder fishing with meat. River conditions difficult with low levels and little flow.
Other anglers on both banks also found fishing hard. With some more water I'm sure more fish would have been caught, nice stretch of river free from snags.

Chub were hungry through Carey islands. The one barbel came from the swim by the abandoned bridge

Difficult. Very few places where river was accessible. Finally found path down to a croy after about a half mile trek. Wasn't really suitable for two anglers, but was pretty much all that was on offer. Blanket weed made any kind of ledgering difficult, and so it was a case of wading and trotting. One nice Chub (near 4lb) and a small Dace landed. Large number of anglers on opposite bank (Aramstone?) also rather limited the water available. The pegs on that side were numerous and well maintained. This was by far and away the most limited Wye and Usk stretch I've fished. Wouldn't recommend to anyone with mobility issues and/or carrying more than a minimal amount of gear. Rather disappointing.
