Started at 10.00 and got thoroughly soaked when the heavens opened at 11.00. Had 2 nice chub both over 5lb on trotted meat in the first hour from 2nd swim on the left bank, then moved to the right bank at midday and struggled a bit but managed 4 more chub from the 2nd swim around the 2lb mark. Water low and clear today and bright sunshine in the afternoon made trotting difficult. No joy at all today on the feeder.

1 Barbel, 4 Chub

Arrived just at first light, weather was overcast with the occasional shower. Water level was 0.3m on the Ross gauge and water clarity was pretty clear. As there was another angler that I didn't know booked onto this stretch, decided to pick a swim and stick to it. By 9am I had caught 6 chub, of various sizes, including a couple of nice ones circa 5lb. Most of the day was slow, with another flurry of chub about 2.30pm.

At about 6pm, the barbel switched on, very pleased to have caught some this trip. Various sizes from 3 to 6lb. During the quieter spells of the day, I went for a wander on both banks and spent a while gazing off the bridge, wearing Polaroid glasses, I could see what may have been signs of weed regeneration, not massive, but what I thought was a really good sign, I guess the better flows this year and less hot spells have reduced the algal blooms a bit.

Overall a great day fishing, on a well maintained beat.

Fished right bank 3rd peg down river on right facing down river. This peg is VERY SLIPPY getting to it. Could do with some 'steps'dug into bank

River running low and clear. All fish on pellet.

All 5 Chub caught ledgering. All caught on peperami or meaty pellets. Rained all morning river still clear but rising slightly.
First time coarse river fishing for both anglers. Very enjoyable day.

Took advantage of the discounted evening session after spending the morning on a different stretch during the heavy rain. Managed 4 chub on pellets and feeder at the bottom end of the beat.

Extremely hot day and the fishing was hard going. Managed a chub in the morning and one early evening. Fished all the swims on the left bank and a couple on the right, but the fish were elusive today. Used feeder and pellets.

First time on this beautiful beat. Boiling hot so was hard going but we found chub in the deeper water and some in the faster water. We will be back
