Had been looking forward to a day at this lovely venue, but was expecting a difficult day, due to low clear river and likely bright sunshine.
Started on R/H Bank above the ford, caught early on float fished meat 10 chub between 1lb and 2 lb about 9 am river switched off. Moved down below the ford had two Chub about 4lb then lost one and never saw another fish.
Packed in at 11.30 as it was clear nothing was going to feed until sun had gone down and temperature had dropped.
Was very suprised to not see any Barbel even with the elements very much against you, as this stretch was full of them last year.

couple of decent chub in fst water on bread early on, barbel and other chub fell later on in fast water

Very poor beat, low clear, only 1 peg worth fishing at the end of the beat.

Very hot day. The river was very low and clear. No luck ledgering on any baits. Only managed a couple of small dace trotting maggots down the right hand bank at the end of the beat. Beautiful location with some promising swims but no luck on the day, worth trying again when conditions are better.

Short late evening session, river painfully low and in need of rain..both chub to luncheon meat.
