Conditions were very cold and windy. River was 2ft up but had two chub to 4lb on pellet.

Water very cold. Two chub of about 4lb each, both on meat. One barbel lost, gave trotting a go but not much depth to the swims on this stretch of water.

Nice warm day, sunny start around 10am. Started bottom on the swim, road side trotting bronze maggot. Waded out behind tree, water surprisingly strong! Loose fed 10 or so maggots every run down. After one and a half hours and 4 lots of hook links gone for nowt, I put the straight lead down the end of the faster water and lost a further 3 rigs. Time to move. Over the bridge, down in front of the two trees, feeder on stuck with the maggots to use them up. Whoopy! 2lbs chub first chuck, (poor fish had been got at by a cormorant or some other predator) cloud cover happened so anticipation heightened.....this is when I started encountering willow suckers and small branches continuously pushing through my swim. This cost me 4 sets of feeders!! Debris pulling the line under rocks or into bigger snags(?) etc. Getting low on kit, I moved back to the bridge to try to avoid the debris - nope... 3 more losses of end kit did it for me and off home by 4pm to be honest not one of my better days, looked fine but hard to understand where any fish would hold in that sort of flow and constant debris?

Quite a lively day, weather wise. River still high, so fished the 1st swim on the opposite bank all day (the other swims would have all been a bit tricky with the elevated level). Managed 3 barbel during morning and early afternoon. Fishing in the last few hours became very difficult with all the leaves etc being blown in by the gale. All fish caught on ledgered pellet. Another thoroughly enjoyable day on a lovely stretch.

Fished all swims,nothing caught. River flowing really fast and muddy colour. First blank on WUF waters. Thats fishing.

Enjoyable days fishing, fish caught on boilies and pellets.

Best Chub 3lb 15oz float. River coming down and less brown.
No barbel showing.

River was still fairly high, blanked on the ledger.

Hard as river well up and brown but barbel showed late afternoon on pellet, 6.5 lbs.

Very wet and windy afternoon. River levels rising and colouring throughout. 4 barbel to 4lb. Lovely stretch fished for first time.
