4 barbel caught, 1 lost early on and thought that was it for the day, hour later it was away, while that was resting in the net I put my other set up rod out and that was away pretty soon resulting with 2x 8lb+ barbel in the net.

Got there and the r8ver was over 2m and flowing through very fast, almost turnt round and went home, walked a little and found a nice slack in the margin. Had a bit in the first 30 mins and ended up spending 9 hours in the same place, ended up with 7 chub upto 5lb7oz (new pb) All caught on 14mm halibut pellet, switched to meat and had an eel so switched back straight away.

The best fishing was in the slower water close to the bank after recent rains put the level up to 7' on the Lydbrook guage a few miles upriver. Three barbel at 4, 7 1/2 and 9 1/4 lbs (a pb) and two eels with numerous fish lost in snaggy areas below trees. A good day in difficult river conditions.. All caught on meat. They weren't up for pellets today.

Water high, coloured and moving fast after recent rains upriver. Fished the quieter water by the bank and might have had one or two more if they hadn’t escaped in tree roots.
Two decent eels also put a bend in my old fibreglass John Wilson Avon rod.

Water highish to start but must have dropped at least 2 feet during the day. 4 fish from 7.8 to 9.10 all within a mad hour from 11.30.

I'm afraid that I blanked. I had one bite all day - a good fish lost as I was reaching for my landing net. Conditions were challenging - river high and charging through again. 4 ounce lead was required and still moving. Wonderful wooded hillside in front of me - shame about the early rain. It was difficult to find a fishable swim - I assume because the water was quite high. I ended up going downstream from the north car parking area (where the caravan is) and walked a long way before I found one.
