The river level was very low. We used a beaded pheasant tail fly. Not much sign of fish at all. The beat isn't as long as it states as the far end at both ends it is inaccessible. This needs attention.
Very easy wading and access off the bank but the cows can be a problem. It may be worth letting anglers know if there will be cow fields around the beat as I am not confident around them. Cows splashing around in the water is hardly an attraction for fish.
Enjoyed the day though....as always!

The conditions were not ideal as it was a very bright day and river was low. Only fished for a couple of hours and caught a grayling on a hare's ear beaded nymph. A very nice stretch of river.

Difficult day, water cloudy to start but cleared through day but the wind was much stronger than forecast and made fishing very difficult. The cattle are very inquisitive so be warned. Also as they get into the river in places that also muddies the water.
Thanks to W&U team for the fishing they provide in some lovely areas.

Sunny evening on a quiet stretch of river. The wood at either end of the beat were very hard to get through/access. Some nice stretches below the upstream weir. No fish rising this evening - no luck on dry or nymph.

Pretty stretch of river & a fair amount of fence climbing & nettle bashing with my wading stick to access some stretches; I think I needed a little more stealth on the day. Spent a lot of time standing in the water changing flies/leaders trying to find the magic pattern to attract the bigger trout. A lot of tiny ??dace & salmon parr taking the smaller offerings. Did manage one decent trout in the end. Had the company of a herd of very sociable bullocks on & off throughout the day. Wonderful day thank you.

Lugg was quite low. Only v small stuff taking off the top hence no catch number registered. On yeah, and got chased by cattle as I exited the water before the weir.

Fish topping everywhere, ideal conditions and beautiful beat. Most fish produced at the bottom of the beat in deeper water. Will be returning again soon!

I was expecting more for a 20£ beat. The access from bank is very bad in the marked areas. However, it is too deep to cross wading. In summary, the beat has one nice spot, the weir at the beginning and that's it.
