3 small brownies to small ptn, plus 2 small grayling. Nothing hatching of any significance with only one or two rises through out the day Attempted the section above the top weir being just shallow enough to wade most of it, only to come face to face with a down stream bound canoe with a couple of characters who didn't look like they wanted to be asked to leave, so, I didn't! By the way it's definitely an otter on the water, on arrival I made my way down to the lower weir and there he was, in my pitch!! I watched him duck and dive for a while collecting morsels from the bottom and then, when he noticed me he seemed to just disappear. Magic! Many thanks WUF.

My first visit to the river on a sunny day although with a tricky wind at times. Water a little coloured and saw only one rise during the day - very pleased to catch two fish on nymph though, both returned. In spite of the warnings, access to some of the wooded areas was more difficult than I was expecting but I will be back.
Booking arrangements very efficient.

Lovely bright day, river slightly coloured and running fast. All fish taken on nymphs and despite a few hatching flies nothing seen rising. Saw a cormorant part way down beat and what looked like otter prints on shingle area above weir.
Thanks to Wye & Usk staff for the usual friendly and efficient service.

River was high and cloudy at first and was starting to clear around dinner time. Should have crossed the bridge to walk down stream as it appeared (from the nearside bank) that the far side had better casting opportunities for the amateur. Plenty of hatching flies when the sun came out, but I saw nothing rise at all.

Wonderful beat, good access and stunning scenery. Fished for 8 hours and only saw two fish rise so a quiet day but will definitely be back again. Oh, and pack your machette for the upper woodland area if you intend to venture upstream!

River cloudy, sun was out but very windy! No fish caught or seen. Nice beat with lots of potential. Kingfishers seen and unfortunately a mink in lower weir pool. Fished 9am til 2pm. Will return - many thanks.
