A very enjoyable day on the river .Good hatches of olives encouraged regular risers . All grayling were a pound or over .

Warm bright day, river a little higher due to recent and much needed rain. Caught 3 grayling and 2 wbt off the top before lunch. Beautifully conditioned fish, 10" - 15", all taken with an F-fly and all returned safely. Fish completely switched off after lunch, but I stubbornly persevered with dries, for no other reason than this is the method I love. Great beat, look forward to returning next year.

So four brownies caught and returned and 4 more self released. Also 2 salmon spotted.
A lovely day but again, another smelly river I'm afraid, although it might have been something on the wind - lots of slurry tankers about on the roads.

Despite the low water and hot weather the fishing was excellent .Two of the grayling were about 1lb 8oz and in perfect condition . One moronic canoeist literally scraped through part of the beat , when politely reminded of the agreement , he proceeded to beat his paddle on the pool surface before leaving in a huff . This problem is becoming more commonplace and needs sorting .

A hard day of fishing. Very little sign of fish at the surface. A brisk wind made it hard to cast. Nice location though.

Working in the local area and fairly new to fly fishing. Didn’t finish work until later than expected so ended up starting around 5pm. Would love to spend a whole day here
