A tough day. Without access to a 4x4 I focussed on the downstream section of the beat. There was basically not a single swim accessible, so after breaking through some willows I managed to find a very rocky beach. If the river was up a foot or two there would have been nowhere to fish. I stuck at it for 12 hours, and only managed a single bite which was the usual size Wye Chub.

Very difficult to find the fishery. Do not use the post code on the website it takes you to a school car park and after numerous questions to locals and a phone call to the office managed to bump into the land owner, a nice lady that put me in the right place. Hottest day of the year river at normal level tried the lot eventually caught a few Chub none more than 3lb no sign of Barbel. All Chub caught on the float trotting luncheon meat. Sorry but directions are very poor on website.

Fishing Passport Note : We neither give a Postcode or directions on the website. Directions and beat maps can be downloaded from the Order Confirmation mail we send when a booking is made.

Barble averaging 6 lb. Chub averaging 1 lb. Standard Leger over method mixed pellet. Swims are extremely overgrown and accessible beach type swims plagued with kayaks beaching and then proceeding to swim 10ft from me. One such group being a party of 10 or so lads on a stag weekend. All in all nor overly relaxing

3 Barbel, 3 Chub

Sunburnt, stung but happy. A long day spent roving. Yes more access to the river is needed but the rewards are there to be had. Barbel early and late to 7lb. Chub to 4lb+ throughout the day.

Waded top stretch, long trotting into likely spots. 1 chub caught on bread flake. Please note, if you are fishing from the bank there is currently only 1 fishable swim. Top field stile inaccessible. Beware as you circumvent this stile - there is ragged barbed wire hidden in the undergrowth which ripped through my waders.
The entire beat is not ready for fishing this season.
