Worked hard for the fish I caught yesterday the river was in flood 3m plus. Moved swims 6 times and eventually found bites at the swim opposite the mansion house close in. Old faithful spam did the trick. Barbel was 8 pound chub up to 4

Caught my first double figure Wye barbel after travelling 111 miles for 1.5 hours fishing. River was lapping the top of the banks and tanking through at 3.9m so I stopped at the first slack I came to which happily was 100m from the car, opposite the house at the bottom end of the stretch.
A large lump of meat did the trick with the double (10.04), and I lost another at the net too after it swam into a submerged fencepost.
Well worth the effort!

River in great condition but with the rain the banks were slippery. All fish came on luncheon meat or halibut pellets.

First time fishing this beat very limited swim choice. We managed 7 barbel & 1 chub. Barbel we’re 6lb the smallest and biggest 8lb 10oz. Chub was just over 5lb All the fish were in pristine condition. Feeder and pellet were the tactics that caught on the day. Realy nice looking beat will come again for sure

River was in good condition. I fished the inside line on the crease and had 4 barbel up to 7.5 lbs. weather was fantastic for time of year. All fish came on red (14mm) pellet with ground bait feeder. Had 1 chub 4 lbs.
